Welcome to Colorful Housewives and our first official blog entry! In the past couple of months I have been traveling to and fro to take care of some family business. In doing so, I have spent quite a while in my home town of Los Mochis, Mexico. It is actually a modern, growing city rich in culture and amazing food. Everywhere you look there are restaurants, food stands and a sea of motorcycle delivery guys. Great food is definitely one of the draws to keeps me coming back.
>> All kids should be introduced to the basics of cooking and baking while they are still young and wishing to learn. The first recipes for kids that you can try should be easy ones that require little or no heat.
Like most women, I have a major sweet tooth and am absolutely helpless in front of any dessert. One of my all time favorites has been mosaic jello. I know, its kind of odd, but who doesn’t like jello? And this recipe takes it to a whole other level. It is a simple and quick dessert; and very affordable to make. As a matter of fact, at one of our beloved major stores it is sold over six times more expensive made than to make it yourself. It can be perfect for your child’s next birthday party instead of ice cream and can even be color coordinated!
>> Don’t forget to add some baking recipes for kids when you teach your children. You should look for very simple cake or other dessert recipes that they can help you measure out and mix up.
